kitty1.pngWellness Exams

Here at Lehigh Valley Animal Hospital, we believe in the importance of annual wellness physical examinations for every pet to ensure that they live long, healthy, and happy lives with their families. As part of your pet's annual wellness examination, one of our experienced doctors will review recommended vaccinations, preventative care, and testing. This is an opportunity for your vet to perform a head-to-tail thorough exam and potentially diagnose underlying health issues, which may provide your pet with necessary medications or treatments before symptoms arise.

Urgent Care

We have at least one veterinarian and a team of skilled veterinary nurses on duty 6 days a week who are trained and equipped to handle any issue your pet has. Whether it has been a few days since the onset of symptoms or mere moments since a traumatic injury, our team is prepared to give your pet the care needed. With our state of the art laboratory equipment, diagnostic imaging, surgical suite, and pharmacy, you can rest assured that your pet will be treated promptly and carefully.

Emergencies include cases such as car accidents, severe lacerations, straining or painful urination, or eye injuries. If possible, it is best to call before coming in so that a team member can advise you on your particular emergency and prepare for your pet's arrival.

In the event of ingestion of a potentially poisonous material, you may contact the Animal Poison Control Center at (855) 764-7661 to receive immediate assistance.

For after hours emergencies, please contact Valley Central Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center at (610) 435-1553.

Our facilities are home to advanced surgical equipment which enable our veterinary staff to perform a wide range of surgical procedures.

Cold Laser Therapy

Lehigh Valley Animal Hospital now proudly offers cold laser therapy at both of our convenient locations. Also known as low-level light therapy, the specific wavelengths of laser light facilitate circulation and healing by stimulating light-sensitive elements within soft tissue cells. Increased circulation reduces inflammation and pain, decreases healing time, and can treat a vast array of conditions.

At LVAH we not only apply our cold laser treatments to our postoperative cases to speed up the healing process, but we have also seen remarkable success with treating soft tissue injuries, arthritis, hip dysplasia, allergies and other dermatological issues, and more. While each case is different, we typically advise starting with several treatments per week and tapering down in frequency once improvement is noted.

Speak with your veterinarian today about the many applications of cold laser therapy and to schedule an exam!
